Which Finish Should I Use on my Surface?

Malibu Driveways has 3 main types of specialty formulated concrete sealers - Primer seal coat, High-Gloss wear coat and Super-Gloss wear coat. While your surface can be protected with just our Primer seal coat, our Primer is usually used on new or unsealed concrete surfaces and then one of our superior wear coats are applied and bonded to the primer coat underneath, giving you the Malibu Multi-Step Advantage.

So which wear coat should you choose - High-Gloss or Super-Gloss? It depends what we are sealing. Exposed Aggregate and Paving Stone surfaces benefit the most with our Super-Gloss formula that helps to bring out the natural colour of the surface which really POPS and gives more of a wet look finish.

With Stamped and Broomed or Troweled concrete surfaces we recommend our High-Gloss sealer. Compared to our Super-Gloss, our High-Gloss is a slightly thinner resin that works better with these smoother surfaces. For Stamped Concrete we highly recommend adding our anti-slip additive as Stamped Concrete can be slippery when wet. If we are sealing a Pool Deck or Stairs, Anti-slip is added no matter the formula or surface to provide an added measure of safety to these areas to avoid slips and falls.
